Long-distance move from Windermere, FL to Duckwater, NV

They did such a tremendous job.

The first time I knew about Bronze Star Moving and Storage, it was from a close friend of mine. He was narrating to me how great his relocation experience. Although I took things lightly, I did not forget how passionate he was in his description. So when I was in need of movers, I recalled everything and straight away went to seek their services. The sales person I found perfectly responsive and he gave me answers to all the questions I had. When I finally hired out that crew, they did such a tremendous job.

Long-distance move from Bakersfield, CA to San Antonio, TX

!!! WARNING !!! This company is running a scam and gets away with it.

!!! WARNING !!! This company is running a scam and gets away with it. They will steal your money. Contracted for a move with a 2600cu ft truck including my tool boxes. Originally paid for a 2100 Cu ft. Pictures and emails of tool boxes and all stuff being moved-No problem they said. On move day they came with a truck of about 1700 cu ft NOT 2600. Then they proceeded to attempt to extort more money for another truck. The truck they came with was only up to 1700 cu ft, a full 900 cu ft too small.

They said they couldn't move any of my tool boxes and only some furniture and boxes saying it was too small for the lift gate. I measured and moved the larger box to the lift gate and the toolbox would fit all the way on and still had room to stand etc. They promised the toolboxes could be loaded, saw the pictures repeatedly over 2 months, and I even broke the largest down anyway from one large to 5 smaller. On move day the movers refused to move them without even trying or touching them and made a bunch of excuses besides the lift gate that was shot down.

They said they needed to transfer the items to another truck and even if they could load the toolboxes they couldn't get them on the semi-truck in LA to drive to Texas because they don't have lift gates. They knew they needed lift gates so why would they take the money and let us get to move day then send someone who has to do a transfer, has too small of a truck, and they don't have semi-truck lift gates. We were promised a "direct move" with "no transfer and "you're getting an expedited move..." on a recoded call, with notice I was recording. The movers that day attempted to extort more money out of us saying that even if they could load the toolboxes and get them on a simi, that they would need to rent a truck in Texas to transfer again to unload, wanting way more money for this.

They wanted more money to bring another truck. They brought too mall a truck to begin with. they needed 47% more capacity being 900 cubic feet too little. THEY DID NOT SEND THE CONTRACTED AMOUNT.

They had 4 people including the driver. 2 of them were too old to lift anything and complaining the boxes were "too heavy" even though no one lifted a finger or a box. I am disabled and my left side has the strength of an 8-year old and I could lift every box. They just stood around for 2 hours making excuses and doing nothing.

The broker, they apparently are not the movers, said that they would send another company the next day and promised calls back and they never did, they went MIA. The next day a company called but they had the same problem with no liftgate and the need to transfer the items but unable to. We had to be out that day or face a $1000 fee a day. We had to hire someone else.

This companies MO is get the money and keep it whether you get moved or not. Find the cheapest company and try to legitimize it saying contract this and contract that. They make verbal promises and contradict themselves and make you feel comfortable until move day when they start the real scamming. Then if you don't pay and threaten dispute, they turn on you like a rabid dog. On move day the trucking companies get the cash to pickup and drop off and come scamming for additional money. It is a Mob style racketeering operation. they say they are a family business, so was the mob, lol.

Don't believe their repones. You can watch my videos and listen to the audio of this whole 2 months. They should be arrested for running a criminal enterprise and defrauding people.

NEVER USE THIS FAKE NOT MOVING COMPANY BROKER. They will steal your money. They want to do the easy moves like you can do yourself with a U-Haul behind an SUV, not a real move. They never intended on moving us and new all along they couldn't do our move \because of the toolboxes then sent way too small of a truck to try to get a "breach of contract" out of us. We contracted a much larger truck so they breached contract. Their response below is LIES. They are LYING.

Long-distance move from Youngstown, NY to Midland, GA

Do NOT use Bronze Star for pianos

I decided to use Bronze Star Moving to move my baby grand piano from NY to GA. I made this decision for following reasons: the reasonable quote I was given for the move; the assurance from two agents at Bronze Star that their movers are experienced with pianos; the excellent reviews from people online; their website describing them as a “family-owned and operated company.”

I began searching online for a company that could move my piano, and after filling out a form for more information, I was contacted by Mia at Bronze Star Moving. I specifically asked if they could move my baby grand piano, and she assured me that the movers with Bronze Star were experienced with this sort of thing. “They do it all the time.” When I spoke with Thomas, a manager, he assured me the same thing. When working out my quote, Mia explained that there would be an additional $200 packaging fee because of the bulk of the item. The movers would build a crate around my piano, she explained. When my piano was picked up at my parents’ house, the movers informed my elderly parents that because of the size and bulk of the item, they would have to charge an additional $400. I called Bronze Star to make sure this was okay, and another agent Reece, told me that it was normal. We proceeded with the move. After sitting with this new information, however, I began to think - it was clear this move was for a baby grand piano, why were the movers surprised about the size and bulk of the item? I was already charged a $200 fee for extra packaging - which, by the way, a crate was never built around my piano. It was simply wrapped in cardboard and moving blankets. Anyway, I was told my piano was going to New Jersey where they would wait to put it on another truck. A week went by and I hadn’t heard anything, so I called Bronze Star. They checked on my piano and the next thing I know, I get a call from the trucker that says my piano is on the way. Hmm...When the piano arrived at my house in GA, the movers brought the piano into my house, but said they were not going to put it together. I called Bronze Star right away. While I was on the phone with them, the movers took off. I stood at my doorway waving their cash tip in the air, and they sped off like schoolboys in trouble. We never saw them again. Meanwhile, I have a baby grand piano sitting in pieces in my living room. I was told that the movers were not comfortable putting it together. I was told that just because the movers disassembled the piano in NY, doesn’t mean they would assemble it in Georgia. The men in GA were different from the men in NY, they said. At this point, I am talking to Reece again. Every time I tried to ask a question or speak to her about my concerns, she would talk over me. The conversation was becoming impossible, so I ended it and called Customer Service in tears. I told the next agent that I wanted to speak to anyone but Reece. The agent was very apologetic about the experience and assured me that a manager would call me back. I never got a call from a manager, but instead got an email from Reece. She defended herself and explained the actions of the company. Some of her explanation was literally contradictory and the tone was hardly friendly. I responded to her email but sent it to Customer Service, who again responded to me with an email (a personal phone call conversation would have been nice at this point). They in turn defended Reece’s correspondence with me, but offered to “maybe” help me out with the cost of putting the piano together if I got some quotes. After considering this, I declined the offer. I was done with Bronze Star. I would rather pay for the assembly of my piano then deal with them anymore. My original quote for the move was $2857, but after an additional $400 for additional packaging and a quote for $500 to put my piano together, the final cost will be $3757. I should've just had my husband rent a truck and drive it here. This all happened before Thanksgiving, and I still don't have my piano put together. My family and I are so disappointed we won't be able to play our piano for Christmas. If you’re moving a piano, or another larger, specific item, I highly recommend NOT using Bronze Star Moving. This was the most disappointing, frustrating, and heartbreaking experience I’ve ever had.

Official company response

I’m sorry to hear of your dissatisfaction with our moving company. I want to address a few things. Mia, our representative that spoke with you, might have been inexperienced with moving items such as a Baby Grand Piano. Your file included a Special Packing and Crating fee of $200.00. You were informed by dispatch to have a 3rd party pack the piano correctly. We have stayed in constant communication up until 11/24 when you hung up on my customer service team. Pianos incur a bulky item fee that would be applied for the space above the piano because we by law cannot stack items on the piano because it can involve damage in transit. You were charged $400 for the space above the piano. The crew member at loading however did work directly with a distributor that packs and ships piano's and he did get that disassembled correctly to ensure you were loading and safe on the date you selected for pick up. Otherwise, we would have had you call a local piano manufactures or sales associates to properly pack your piano for transport. The driver at loading was not a part of the crew that unloaded at the delivery. The men at your delivery are well versed in loading and unloading bulky items as well as special care items. They do not reassemble pianos because heaven forbid the piano breaks as a direct result of the mover not knowing what they were doing it would be a huge liability on our end in the event that you were to be hurt.
Many Moving Service companies specialize in loading and moving pool tables, Grandfather Clocks, Grand Pianos, Riding lawn mowers. We encourage all clients to hire a separate 3rd party to reassemble any and all specialty items. Nowhere on any of our web advertising do we state that we professionally disassemble/reassemble items like pianos. Yes, we can load and unload, transport all specialty items. At loading you were explained that you would need to hire a company to correctly put it back together.
I have read all emails and replies to my customer service department and I will submit them for review. You stopped answering any and all calls from Bronze Star on 11/25. We had a resolution prepared for you. We had your original driver that was going to be doing a delivery close by the address at delivery where your parents' house was and he was willing, at no extra cost to you, to reassemble. Your last correspondence with us you states that you "no longer wanted to communicate with us and you would not accept our help."

My customer service reply:

Here is your last response to customer service:

If you would like to share your concerns with management then please send a detailed email to CS@bronzestarmoving.com please be sure to include a reasonable resolution. Normally the customer service manager responds within 24 to 48 hours of receiving the escalation . Thank you , have a good weekend .
Clients Response:
To Customer Service: I was given a quote for this move. At the time of pick up, an additional $400 was required. Fine, I accepted it. Now I have to find and hire a separate company to put my piano back together? I have no resolution because I want to be done with Bronze Star Moving and just get my piano reassembled. Everyone at Bronze Star Moving was very kind and polite throughout this process, except for Reece. When things went sour, she was very rude to me in her tone of voice and continued to talk over me when I tried to express my concerns. This has turned out to be an incredibly stressful and disappointing experience. If you find no problem with the information Reece has given me, then I find your way of doing business very unethical.
If you would like to speak with us and allow us a chance to correct this, we would be more than willing. We accept responsibility. Mia was not trained and she assumed a special pack would be the only thing required. Usually that is sufficient, however with a Baby Grand Piano we would always recommend a 3rd party that specializes in pianos to do the disassembly and reassembly.
Reece has to check with the owners on refunds, and we would have been happy to assist with that fee or having the piano put back together. We can't resolve anything without communicating with you directly. I know you called after loading and you were pleased with the service provided. I know any time you called we either answered, emailed, texted and responded.
I know moving is stressful and we understand. We would have worked things out with you. Its okay to be upset and angry about a charge that wasn't already included upfront. I do believe Mia thought the special packing fee of $200.00 was the only fee needed because she does not know pianos can be disassembled. She was still going through training. So, we accept full responsibility for you feeling this way. Please email or call us directly so we may come to a resolution for this major inconvenience.
Thanks,

Do NOT USE this Dishonest company

Bronze star moving and storage company is the worst moving experience I’ve ever had. They gave me false information to get me to pay a $700 deposit then after they took my money they lied about telling me that I could pack my clothes in bags instead of boxes. I reached out to customer service who magically could not be reached. Another employee ended up reaching out to me to apologize saying it was a misunderstanding and telling me the company would comp me 3 wardrobe boxes and $27 credit for ikea bags. They lied about the Boxes and the ikea bags which I found out the day before my moving day. The company told me that I had to repack all of my clothes again with less than 24hours before pick up. Brian’s moving star company also failed to tell me that me and my children’s belongings will take up to 14 days before they are shipped to my home. After speaking to another customer service employee who told me that worst case scenario, it would take 14 days but they would put it in the system to have my belongings delivered on the date that I said I was available, and I reluctantly excepted that I would not get my belongings right away but hopefully within the week. Oh it gets better! After no one reached out to confirm pick up with me, I ended up calling bronze store, which had a third-party company reach out to me. The third-party company tells me that my belongings will go to a warehouse and sit in storage for 21 days and they had their own extra charges .

I was unaware of this. No one told me this, and then Ron star try to gaslight mean into it be in my fault for not knowing ” this is typical when moving out of state. Now I told them before I even sent any money when I was looking for a moving company that this was my first time moving out of state. So how am I supposed to automatically notice things that are in their policy when they never explained it to me and I never experience moving out of state? This company did a switch and Bait! When the third-party truck did show up to my house, they refuse to pack my house because they claimed it was not packed and I had bags everywhere and my house was a mess. Of course they were still in bags. I was told by Thomas who took my deposit I could have the bags I was told by Sandy the customer service who confirmed I could have the bags and then I was told by Chloe that I could have the IKEA bags and then the other bags will go into a wardrobe closet. They all lie You do and the only time when they finally decide to communicate with each other was when I asked for my deposit it and I complained, then they all finally got on the same page to get their story straight as to why they won’t refund me!. They refuse to give me my deposit and pretty much insist that I choose a different moving day where I have to pack repack everything. They offer me to pick a move-in date knowing that I already told them I have to move before January 1. This company will claim to make your moving experience easier but all they did was stressing me out and run up my blood pressure and Robbed me of my hard earned $700 that could’ve went towards my small children. I am a single parent, and do everything myself for my children with no help so under no circumstances, would I have ever hired this company if I knew that, they would take my money without providing me proper service, and making this the most terrible moving experience ever. I ended up having to rent a truck for 1800 and driving my things 12 hours to my house. I still haven’t gotten my deposit back either. Even if I did repack, I hav to move out by Jan first and the company did not care at all about my schedule.

Official company response

This is our exact response email sent to Ashley during loading. We can also post pictures and the video walkthrough from the driver during loading showing the conditions of her home with adolescent children residing.

Dear Ashely,

I am reaching out regarding your pick-up. We had a few hurdles to get through, as we were told that you had packed up clothes in black trash bags. Due to insurance purposes, we cannot allow black trash bags on the truck. They are more liable to tear or rip in transit or while being moved from the house to the truck. It's similar to shipping anything through the US post office, they cannot ship items using trash bags. They would be required to ship in sealed envelopes or boxes with appropriate bubble wrap to support the item being shipped. I did in fact send you a link to buy IKEA bags on amazon and have the items in trash bags placed inside of them. I ordered two wardrobe boxes to be brought by the movers, and I also offered to zelle the driver the money for them.
Furthermore, upon the crews arrival to your residency. They had called into the office to let dispatch know the house was full of pests such as roaches, bugs, and animals (dog feces). We cannot move or transport hordes of infectious substances or material by law and state and local agencies, along with the US DOT. We also verified with the driver/foreman at loading that their statements are true. We have the driver film and record the conditions.
My heart really goes out to you. I know you have children, and I don't know your living situation but I'm sure I can guess why your trying to get out. I know you are stressed out, you're moving which is always stressful, you have movers at your house, and items still need packing to be done. We did have to send the crew home for the day. If you would like to re-schedule pick up for a later date at no additional fee which gives you a chance to get the items packed and clean up some of the hazardous waste. We cannot allow the movers to load infested furniture with roaches, bedbugs, or dog feces onto the truck. This is unsanitary and illegal even to ask the driver to do, and we would be heavily fined by State, City, and local departments in the area. I know that you requested a refund of the deposit. Unfortunately, your deposit is non-refundable because you refused service and they had no choice but to be pulled out of that job because of the conditions of the home and furniture needing to be transported. If you wish to straighten up the house for loading, we can have dispatch re-dispatch you out a different crew but the home would have to be sanitary for them to load the items.

Below are state and local laws and information of moving bio hazard waste.

Transporting Infectious Substances
An infectious substance, feces, including regulated medical waste, is regulated as a hazardous material under the U.S. Department of Transportation's (DOT's) Hazardous Materials Regulations (HMR; 49 C.F.R., Parts 171-180). PHMSA develops and enforces the HMR to ensure the safe transport of hazmat in interstate, intrastate and foreign commerce by aircraft, railcar, vessel, and motor vehicle.
The HMR apply to any material that DOT determines capable of posing an unreasonable risk to health, safety, and property when transported in commerce1, including infectious substances. An infectious substance must conform to all applicable HMR requirements when offered for transportation or transported by air, highway, rail, or water.
The HMR contain the requirements for classification, packaging, hazard communication, and, in some cases, security plans of infectious substances. Infectious substances generally fall into three classification categories:
• Category A – An infectious substance in a form capable of causing permanent disability or life-threatening or fatal disease in otherwise healthy humans or animals when exposure to it occurs.

• Category B – An infectious substance not in a form generally capable of causing permanent disability or life-threatening or fatal disease in otherwise healthy humans or animals when exposure to it occurs.

CDC
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), part of the Public Health Service of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, protects the public health of the nation by providing leadership and direction in the prevention and control of diseases and other preventable conditions, and responding to public health emergencies. The CDC conducts critical science and provides health information that protects our nation against expensive and dangerous health threats, and responds when they arise. The CDC is the authority for guidance on handling infectious substances before or after transportation.

OSHA
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), part of the U.S. Department of Labor, ensures safe and healthful working conditions for working men and women by setting and enforcing standards and by providing training, outreach, education, and assistance. OSHA has standards for bloodborne pathogens and personal protective equipment to protect workers from occupational exposure to infectious substances. As such, some OSHA standards are incorporated into certain DOT packaging requirements for regulated medical waste.
USDA
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) provides leadership on food, agriculture, natural resources, rural development, nutrition, and related issues based on public policy, the best available science, and effective management. Divisions within USDA and CDC form the Federal Select Agent Program (FSAP), which regulate the possession, use, and transfer of biological select agents and toxins that have the potential to pose a severe threat to public, animal or plant health, or to animal or plant products.

Don’t Use a Broker!

Do your research. They are just a broker. You will he assigned to someone of their choice. You will deal directly with the movers and when the assigned movers get there usually the estimate is incorrect from the broker and you will be handed another estimate, knowing if you don’t sign it then you they will leave. Knowing all well they have you on the hook. Do yourself a favor and go directly to a moving company, there is no need to use a company like Bronze Star.

Amazing Job!

Bronze Star Moving and Storage did a magnificent job taking care of my long distance move. When I found out my daughter was pregnant I instantly did some research online about moving companies and put in my information online and I received so many phone calls. I had no clue what the process would be using a moving company so I was very confused and had a lot of questions.

When my moving coordinator from Bronze Star Moving and Storage called he was so polite, kind, and informative. He answered every question with no hesitation. Out of everyone I spoke with, Bronze Star Moving and Storage was the company I chose to go with because I was not pressured to make a reservation right away and even after I moved my pick-up date back they were still able to accommodate me and my busy schedule.

Moving is something I absolutely dread, I've always done it all on my own and at this age there was no way I could possibly move 800 plus miles on my own. The movers were super helpful and considerate of all my belongings and made sure to write ""fragile"" on all my expensive and fragile belongings. As well as blanket and pad wrapping everything! Bronze Star Moving and Storage was reasonably priced, and the staff was very accommodating. The movers called 24 hours before pick up to confirm everything and they called the morning of pick up to give me an estimated time of arrival. When they showed up they were so kind and introduced themselves right away. After that we did a brief walk through and I showed them what I was moving. I didn't have to lift a finger!

Bronze Star Moving and Storage really helped me out and made this move stress free and possible. I couldn't thank Bronze Star Moving and Storage enough. I was very satisfied with the turn out of my move and I most definitely recommend them and their 5 star service. Amazing job!

I will definitely be using them in the future.

I am always worried about using movers because in the past, I’ve had some bad experiences. That was not the case with Bronze Star Moving and Storage. The company was very responsive and flexible with my moving needs. They communicated with me early and often up to the move and the day of the move. The three movers showed up a little early and called when they were 15 minutes away. They were nice and listened to my moving needs. They worked hard to protect all of my furniture and were very fast. They even helped me brainstorm room layout for the furniture in my new place before setting the furniture up. I couldn’t have been happier with this company and the three movers that helped us. The price was also incredibly reasonable. I will definitely be using them in the future and will recommend them to anyone I can.

They are really great!

I highly recommend Bronze Star Moving and Storage. Many people told me about bad experiences with movers and I have had some of my own. I had the complete opposite experience with Bronze Star Moving and Storage. It was all positive. From the planning stages through the actual move, everything went very well. Working with Kevin during the planning stages was great. He responded to email and phone calls right away. He was happy to answer any questions I had. He was always personable, respectful, organized, and helpful. The actual move went so smoothly that I couldn’t believe it. The four movers were efficient, fast, careful with all of my furniture and belongings, cleaned up after themselves, and were very courteous. The move took less time than I anticipated. Moving can be very stressful and dealing with Kevin and Bronze Star Moving and Storage alleviated a lot of stress for me. This company delivered beyond my expectations. They not only do an outstanding job, but have fantastic customer service. I had contacted a few moving companies and Bronze Star Moving and Storage came in at the best price. On top of all of this, a few days after I moved, Kevin sent me an email offering me a free gift for Uber or Starbucks. To me, that was really going above and beyond in terms of customer service. The name of this company really fits who they are. They are really Great!!
